A Michigan mom shared video of her 9-year-old son with cerebral palsy trying to stand for the National Anthem.
The young boy, Logan, walks with the aid of medical equipment and plays in the special needs baseball league.
“He always takes off his hat,” his mom said, “but until yesterday I never really saw him try to stand. He just knew that is what we do to show respect to our country and everyone who fights so hard for us.”
This young man, in trying to stand, does more for our country than those purposefully protesting the national anthem.
I’ve avoided posting about Colin Kaepernick or any other athletes joining in the protest because it only magnifies their extremely narrow, unpatriotic act.
Sadly, Kaepernick now has the top-selling jersey in the NFL.
So, instead, I’m sharing this with you because Logan’s mom proudly shared an image our nation desperately needs to see more of.
Since the founding, patriots have given their lives to proudly fly our flag, and it gives me hope to see a young athlete with cerebral palsy fight to stand up and show the respect our flag deserves.
